Appearance:
Hair color is a magenta-grape wine color and just reaches below her shoulder blades and matching tattoo colors under her left eye in the shape of three dots and two claw shaped marks. Eyes are a light lavender that at times will hold a mischievous sparkle in them, and skin tone is a mocha hue. She stands at only five feet and two inches though doesn’t seem to care, and has a rather thin body type but often says she’d rather cause mischief than outright fight. Her mask fragment hangs above her left eye, one dark eye with a slopping ear that was broken and thus appears like two horns. Strangely enough, she also has a tail outside of her released form – possibly from some experimentation gone funny from Rose’s part, but is colored much like her hair, reaches five feet long before widening into a fluffy oval shape.
Clothes wise the top shirt ends just below her chest, has no sleeves, and a wide neck, while the undershirt is more like a tank-top that comes down to her hips but is missing a triangle cut in the front that reveals her bellybutton. Her pants start as form fitting until about the knee where they begin to balloon out and end at her ankles, her feet donning black slippers. Lastly wears sleeves that begin on her mid-upper arm and widen beginning from her elbow to her wrists, while her hands have black gloves that are missing the thumb, pointer and middle fingers.
One last thing is that sometimes her mood seems to affect what age she appears as. The more upset she is, the older she becomes until appearing about 24-25, and if she’s happy or pleased then about 16-18, but if she’s bored, feeling rather mischievous, or upset then she appears much like a 13 year old and will either hide or set mini-traps all over the place until she’s back to normal.
Personality:
Boredom is not an option. None whatsoever. This doesn’t mean she requires a battle every day, but just a little job here and there, or something amusing to do whether its see what others are up to or her own ‘given’ assignments – usually pertaining to trying to play tricks. Sometimes they’re not always what they seem to be though and what one thinks is the prank or trap is only the beginning/mishap that pulls them into the real one. Severity depends on what the person is, be it sides or rank. Her favorite thing to do though is ‘randomly’ appearing, usually trying to sneak up on someone through her silent footsteps – silent because she’s often found floating around, something she retains from her old hollow days as something of an observer. Sometimes right side up, sometimes upside down, but the direction never seems to bother her, and is all the more amused if she can sneak up on someone that way. Her mood is often unpredictable and at times contrary to how she portrays she’s feeling. When in full stubborn mode she will talk in riddles when someone demands an answer and will only respond to two people with outright answers when asked or commanded to do so.
Even her intentions can be hard to fully understand as she may very well even lead enemies to the base, but only if she’s assured that they will be ripped to pieces or somehow brutally mutilated. Because it’d amuse her. She’d even willingly hold a relatively normal conversation with someone of another race if even to throw them off or because she doesn’t feel the need to kill and destroy, or simply because she’s bored and wants to do something abnormal. Overall her intentions, desires, and reasons for doing things are hard to fully comprehend. The most easily understood one is her loyalty to two Espada – one being the Primera and then the one she serves under.
History:
In the beginning Lumina was known as Sherri amongst a band of Romany who sometimes worked for odd carnivals pulling out parlor tricks as well as ‘real’ works of magiks – not to be confused with the corny hat tricks. The family was mixed between those who showed actual skills in arcane arts or understanding of the ‘spiritual’ world and those who could only perform feats through tricks of the eyes. Sherri was one of those who could see spirits, with or without the aid of specially mixed drinks and herbs, and could even physically touch them and communicate with them. At the same time she had an easy time connecting to them and others emotionally to the point that their current thoughts became audible. This made social situations outside of carnival work awkward because she’d respond to comments they’d merely been thinking of rather than saying aloud and was quickly forbidden from any mixes with the normal folks.
This, however, led to many a bored times alone in her room while her family had fun performing for families or having a party with the Carni crew and led to a distaste for this ‘boredom’ quickly. From this she began learning and devising of ways to escape so she could at least wander about on her own if she wasn’t allowed to commingle with those who couldn’t hear the mind of others. Some of the spirits were a bit perturbed by such ability but for the most part didn’t care as they were no longer amongst the living and were happy to receive some attention, as well as getting to know her.
A winter’s night she went out again to meet with the spirits who were in the forest only for one to come running towards her and told her to run for her life. Within seconds he was cut in half and devoured by a wicked looking creature, teeth gleaming red in an eternal grin with bottomless pits for eyes and two sets of horns that held similar taints in color to them. The last thing she recalls is watching its right arm raise slowly and come down just as slow though she couldn’t pull herself to move out of its way.
Despite the constant entrapment her family forced on her she didn’t wish to part, and always hid from the people who wore strange black robes and carried swords out of fear they’d take her away or kill her. So she continued to try to stay with her family, but they never heard her, even those who had sworn to be a part of those who could listen to spirits. It was this that led to the realization that they’d been lying and all the time she’d been the only one who could truly see spirits or held beyond human capabilities. The heartbreaking moment for her was when she heard the thoughts of her parents, both glad that their ‘demon’ child was gone unto Hell and they no longer had to be held down by her demonic influence. It was at this time the last of her chain dissolved, the last thing the family hearing was a mix between a young girls’ scream of deep sadness and the roar of an angered beast.
From there she began devouring those of the living, beginning with the whole carnival crew and legends began to grow about the abandoned carnival that a monster haunted it. And from time to time, trespassers would disappear there, though she wasn’t stupid enough to stay there and would move around to devour people all around. Eventually she grew tired of the human world and wormed her way into Hueco Mundo where eventually she rose into the chaos that was a Menos Grande of the Gillian class. It was much to her distaste, unknowing of who she was and who were other minds she’d absorbed to rise to such a class, hating the slowness of mind and always holding onto the thread of sanity as well as consciousness. With relish she rose to Adjucha, clinging to the more stable state of consciousness with all she had, and exchanging the ability to regenerate for some sort of floating ability, being born as a rather small Adjucha. This only made things easier for hit and run bites of others to keep her power and levels up so she wouldn’t fall into the “brainless giant meat sack” stage again.
After countless years she began to question parts of the hollow race, especially where the mask was concerned. Her eyes took in each hollow and concentrated on their face, wondering, questioning, about driving herself insane with the desire to know. Temptation soon gave way as one day a paw rose up to take hold of it…
This new state of being felt so much more freeing, though she continued to float around as before but the need to feed wasn’t so harsh as before, and soon found she could absorb the environment and be just as happy. Boredom was soon to be had though as she still had no playmates for her enjoyment, or even a sentient being to talk to once in a blue moon as the hollows were just power-hungry bastards and therefore only so amusing. So when someone more like her appeared she couldn’t hide the immediate interest, floating all around the person to inspect them if they were indeed like her or simply posing. After being swatted away she had the tantalizing lure of being allowed to return to some place with this lady and agreed – if for no reason other than the need for some company. More people were at the place a lot like her and some were interesting, some not so much. She underwent some amusing experimentations that ended up only resulting in her absorbing some of the energy and the mutation of her tail appearing outside of her released form. Since then the woman (known as Rose) has amused her enough, and so Lumina promised to listen to her commands without fail, although was a bit unsure about actually following this woman as she was still keen on her lab.
Simply put: she’s loyal to Rose’s word but still chooses to serve another most times.
Innate Ability:
Lumina is able to create swarm of what appears to be brightly glowing fireflies from her reiatsu that are uniquely structured when compared to how kido spells and ceros are created. They are able to hone in and fly towards a specified target based on her will (yes, can be intercepted) and upon contact with skin (usually the wound) it turns into a liquid state and is absorbed. Once absorbed it forces the cells into a heightened state of activity to promote rabid healing/covering of a wound. Due to the nature of it she doesn’t tend to use it on minor injuries during fights.
