Akira is an ex- soul reaper with exceptional skills. when he left soul society he was taught mainly by Kisuke Urahara. He learned kido from Tessei Tsukabashi. And learned hand to hand combat from Yoruichi Shihoin. his skills are so high that he can keep up with Urahara. He takes great pride in his Hoho (Agility) skill Shunpo (Flash Steps) as well as his Swordsmanship. And is a Vizard. for some reason he calls himself the Original Vizard the reason for this is still unknown.
