| Shinigami Registration Name: Kenshiki
Rank: Lieutenant
Age: Five hundred
Appearance: Kenshiki stands at an average six foot. Weighing about one hundred and ninety ponds. All muscle, not a single pound of fat on him at all. He has silky light blue hair. This is short, about five inches from the top of his head. His hair drapes over his eyes most of the time, although he tries to keep it to the sides. He has an athletic build, his stomach and chest are very well toned, while his arms are decently muscular. His lower half of his body is also muscular to an extent. He has no type of facial hair, nor does he have any real scars on his body. He has a tattoo though on his back. The tattoo is very well detailed, it resembles two lions, both a different shade of color. One a very light gray, nearly matching white, while the other is all black, both showing up perfectly on his tanned skin. The two lions both have horns on their foreheads. The black lion a very majestic mane, while the lighter lion, is actually a lioness. They are both facing opposite directions like they are circling each other, ready to do combat for dominance, which goes agaisnt the real world nature of a lion, but it seems to show just how some things change.
Kenshiki isn't like most shinigami. He doesn't wear the normal attire that should be worn. He is very rebellious when it comes to his clothing choice, one thing he retained through his past life. He wears a white under shirt, better known as a "Beater". Over that, he wears an orange shirt, the ends of the sleeves are blue. The final piece on his torso is an all gray jacket, fur on the hood. On the back of the jacket, much like his tattoo, are two lions, but on his jacket they are laying with each other, like two cubs would, but they are fully grown lions. He never found the shinigami robe very comfortable. They were so..."Formal" and boring, he can't stand em at all. Kenshiki wears blue jeans, two lions on either side of the jeans and they seem to be heading toward the ground, no huge significance with his clothes, other then they fit him very well. On his feet are two Orange shoes, blue tongue and blue brim at the bottom. On his right hip is his Zanpakuto, tying through one of the loops on his pants, he never gos anywhere without it.
However, he will wear the appropriate tire when his captain says it is necessary or during formal meetings.
Gender: Male
Personality: General personality:
Kenshiki is a very quite shinigami. He never talks too anyone besides his captain and his vice captain. Though he enjoys training with others, he'll never get into a long drawn out discussion with them. Like most in soul society, he forgets his past, which doesn't influence his attitude, he is just naturally cold and distant. Along these lines, Kenshiki will protect the people under his command, never to allow them to be hurt. His personality is said to be flawed by many, but he frankly doesn't care one bit. He lives his life the way he knows how too.
Likes and Dislikes:
Kenshiki has many likes though, such as trying new foods. He also enjoys cooking, all though it's very pointless because no one in soul society ever gets hungry, it's just something he does. some of his dislikes are arrogance, he cannot stand someone so caught up in their own pride that they think they are the kind. He also dislikes sympathy, he finds it useless and no one should feel like that.
Hard choices:
During a time of crisis, Kenshiki is very cool hearted. His way of thinking isn't very complex, but rather sadistic and cold. He will leave a useless soldier behind, but if the soldier is savable, He will not let him perish. While this confuses many people, he knows what will hinder them and what won't. This is also implying that the people who are savable aren't in a dangerous situation, but safely secure, but in need of healing or rest. Though, if they are trapped between closing walls, Kenshiki would have no choice but leave them.
If Kenshiki is left to choose between friends and the enemy, he will always go after the enemy. He knows that "Friends" are only other people, and who ever he is with will or at least should know how to save themselves, if they cannot, then they should perish in the end. Another "Cold" hearted trait, but no other mentality would used is some situations. This is too say that the enemy is in need or capture or defeat. On the occasion that the enemy is a weak hollow that can be defeated within a short time span, he will save his friends, but only if that is the case.

History: Birth:
Kenshiki's birth was like all the children's back in the 1500's. Planned before hand by two people, married or not. His cool hearted "Parents" were fairly young, about sixteen each, they wouldn't keep track of the age but they were young in the end. His father, Ken, and his mother Shiki, were madly in love. Ken, he had all white hair, very dark blue eyes. Shiki, she was a very beautiful women, Long silky black hair, Light blue eyes. These two seemed to be the perfect match. They never fought, they never seemed to be caught in trouble with the other villagers. Their life seemed perfect, and it was.
The house was two floors, nicely built, even for the sixteenth century. In all it's marvel, the inside was what really brought people back. Four rooms inside, each one with it's own unique style. The main room was lined with wood, a very primitive carpet on the floor. Primitive for the future, but quite elegant for the sixteenth century. A wooden table with six chairs at it. Chandelier over top of it, china closet with some of the finest plates, bowls, cups, forks, spoons, and so on and so forth inside.
The next two rooms were basically the same. Both rooms, each with their own bed in it, but one for the child soon to be born, and the other for the two parents. In the child's room, it had a crib, that being about all they had made by that time. The parents room had their bed, and that was also about all it had. The last room on the first floor, the birth room, was the largest. I had nothing but a soft cushion across the floor, while their was hot water and towels ready for her. The birth was about to begin.
Kenshiki was born around the time of Fall, heading into winter, what would be October seventeenth 1508. The small house was actually rather big compared to the other people's homes. Ken and Shiki decided that they would combine their names, and coincidently it meant Pride, a very fair word for the young man. No two parents felt more welcoming of their child then these two. From there, their life would begin.
Early youth:
Kenshiki was now turning seven. He attended a local village school. His life had been a perfect as to yet. Nothing making him cry, the occasional trip, scrapped knee, a fallen tooth here and there. Nothing that really made him cry though. He was a very happy child. Nothing could ever make him sad, until...
Kenshiki had become sick, and with such a very primitive medical expenses to date, he would and could only rely on luck. His life hung in the balance, his mother Shiki, and his father Ken, both stayed with him every night and every day. They prayed to what ever being would hear to let their only son survive such a horrendous illness. All the villagers had given up on the child, in a astonishing two days, he had become worse. All hope was lost.
Kenshiki, only after a few days, woke up with nothing wrong with him. He didn't know why or how but, he was perfectly well. He thought it was the lord and savorier thats they all so willingly and naively believed in. What really happened was simply, a shinigami felt bad for the couple, her intentions nothing in vain. This shinigami, she wasn't so powerful but she was a medical genius. This cure would have more then just a healing effect.
The use of reietsu to cure Kenshiki awakened his inner reietsu, it was quite simple. He was fast, extremely fast. Though not the most extravagant power, the people back them had no idea why he had become so fast, they thought nothing of it. Soon, they would all see more then just a speed boost on the boy.
Teen's:
After eight years of Kenshiki's life, a lot has happened. Some for the better and some for the worst. He wasn't sure what to think of it all. On the plus, he gained much better control over his powers that he gained, even learning new styles and ways to use these powers. On the negative end, the village was now becoming suspicious of "witch" craft within their home. To top it all off, two years after his tenth birthday. his father had lost his life to what seemed to almost have killed him.
Kenshiki slowly became a cold hearted young man, he was thirteen and he wanted to leave his judgmental village, start a new life, become something more. His wish would soon come true, but not the way he suspected. His mother had gone into town, she was shopping for food. Normally she would pay for it and leave, but today, she was forced to clean and cook, and pay double. She couldn't refuse, she needed the food. After leaving the shop and the inner walls of the town, she was jumped and raped by three men. They stole all of her food, leaving her to sob in her pain.
She had gotten home, her face filled with sorrow, her body aching from the bruises and scrapes she had received during the whole ordeal. Kenshiki wanted to help, but she didn't want to hear it. Leaving him to do what he wanted, she had killed her by hanging herself with a rope in her room. Hanging from her window, Kenshiki had to discover this on his own.
Kenshiki had no idea what was going on. He thought she was just upset about his father still. He didn't think much of it, until of course his mother hadn't said a word for hours on end. 'Mother!' He would exclaim on an endless rampage. Tears rolled down his cheeks running to her second floor room. The door was locked, and Kenshiki knew something was wrong.
The day was October seventeenth, 1521. Kenshiki's birthday. Kicking in the door, he found the rope, and his mother hanging from the window, her cold cheeks a sign of her death. Cutting her down and pulling her up to him, Kenshiki cried for the next three days. He swore it, he would get his revenge. Though he did not know it was the village, they were the main cause for his grief. The next three years were going to be the biggest part of his life.
Death:
Kenshiki was now sixteen. He had left his village and lived on his own, taking in almost a primal instinct, but soon regained his consciousness. He was going to exact his revenge on this town. He was going to kill off as many of them as he could, and not regret it at all. He was at peace with himself, knowing he would let his fathers and mothers will reality.
The new powers that he gained. They were something else, and it had seemed the basis of his powers were attribute increasing. He was faster, and stronger then anyone else. He had heightened eye sight, earing, smelling, even he could taste better, which wasn't always a good thing. His powers, they were given to him to survive anywhere!
Now his speed and strength increase weren't extremely high. They made him a better combat warrior then his town, but he was easily caught because he was still very reckless. Standing at the foot of the towns gate, his eyes closed and opened again...he was gone.
He was beaten to it however. Someone had beaten him to the killing, Kenshiki snarled at the sight, it was his duty to exact revenge, and some group of assholes did it for him.
Their onslaught lasted all day, They killed nearly the entire town, going after the children and women first. Some would say that they were weak and cowards, but they weren't going to let them rebuild, their next targets...the guards. They easily took them all out, and with the only people that could fight, well gone, they could finish them off.
When Kenshiki walked through the town, he found himself locked in the middle of thirty men, the last remaining stand for their town. They all asked why, why had Kenshiki killed their families, why he had killed nearly all of them. His answer, he tried to tell them it wasn't him, but they weren't going to listen to him. Kenshiki pleaded, but his emotions got the best of him. Though he wasn't regretful, He sadly, slipped away. He fainted, and was killed by the towns people.
Shinigami training:
Kenshiki was sent to soul society right away by a female Shinigami. He hadn't caught her name, nor would he in any sense. He could hardly remember what she looked like before his spirit body was transfered to soul society. His eyes widened at the mere sight of the place, but he quickly fell into a deep sleep. His memory of his past life no longer in his mind, he lived then only to live as a soul and soon, train to become a shinigami.
It had been one hundred years since he was first transported to the soul society. His body mature, but only by two or three years it seemed. He was still young, and now, he would never truly grow 'Old'. His attention was sparked when he heard of the shinigami Academy held by many other shinigami's. He didn't know why, but he had the urge, the sensation to go and join. To no avail, it was the hardest thing he has ever done.
Kenshiki lived on his own in soul society. His cold and heartless soul stayed in tact, and he was avoided by many in his days in the academy. He whizzed through the combat hand to hand practice, but when it came to Kidou, he was last in all the scores. Though no in any form truly bad, it would just place a large handicap on him.
Once graduated, he received his Zanpakuto, but the name, or names, escaped his ears to effortlessly. He trained day in and day out, and while he wasn't the last to learn it's name, it took him quite a while. It would seem though, while many learn their shikais in the heat of battle, Kenshiki learned his in the most bazaar display in all of human kind.
It was a hot afternoon, Kenshiki once again training to learn the name of his Zanpakuto, when he was interrupted by a beautiful shinigami girl. Her zanpakuto short, but wide. She had caught an interest in Kenshiki, but Kenshiki didn't know what to do. Ever since his past life, which he cannot recall, He had never spoken to anyone, much less a girl. Of course, he didn't leave her to feel awkward. He kept the answers short, wondering when she would think he was weird and leave.
Suddenly through the chit chat, two soft voices rang in his ear. 'You need to be more well spoken!' One voice called out. Another, calmer, more collected voice also rang. 'Don't listen to him, he's just anxious.' Kenshiki was confused, and asked back. 'Who are you two?' In a daze, they both replied, but at different times, in succession. Kenshiki responded to it, but out loud, suddenly, his zanpakuto glowed brightly, becoming to gauntlets that were spiked, and had metal plates over the fist, also lined with spikes. One was white, and the other all black.
The girl looked dazed, Kenshiki as well. Looking at her, He shrugged and told her that he had just awoken his Zanpkauto. She laughed and bowed respectively, leaving him to finish his training. Something about her made him want to smile, but he didn't. He kept his cold glazed look and finished up the training. Nothing special happening so far...boy was he in for it.
First life lesson:
It had been another two hundred years, Kenshiki easily began to control his Shikai, his power rising to match low level Vice captains, or even the more powerful then some current vice captains.
Kenshiki had been speaking with the girl more often, and only that girl. She treated him better then the other shinigami did. This in itself gave her more then he'd give anyone. This would all change though, and for the worst.
Kenshiki was finally starting to learn Kidou, but oddly, only Binding spells worked for him. Kenshiki, after realizing this, decided that he would only work on binding spells, and to make it better, they worked perfectly for his Zanpakuto. Since his was a close range Zanpakuto, binding the enemy would allow him to attack without using much energy.
Kenshiki had been given a training mission. He was being tested to join one of the squads, and he, along with two other people had to go fight controlled Hollows. It was him, the girl he had befriended and one other shinigami. It wasn't going to be extremely difficult, but it was out in the wild, and only monitored by a single group, and this group...they were all lazy and slept the entire time.
Kenshiki, along with Asuka, and Kai, all headed to the vast open area. Kenshiki had his hand across the sealed state of his Zanpakuto. Asuka stayed clsoe to him while Kai arrogantly strolled along the path toward their training area. A cringe came from Ken, a sudden burst of hollow reietsu came into the area. A black cavity opened up. Kenshiki looked upon the garganta, three hollows came out, each in their own respective form.
Kenshiki felt very weird and disturbed by this, Kai rushed and smirked. 'This is them!' Ken tried to stop him, releasing his Zanpakuto. 'No!' He yelled back, Asuka also ran after them both. The three hollows bellowed and charged at the three of them. Kenshiki bellowed his palm raised. 'Disintegrate, you black dog of Rondanini! Look upon yourself with horror and then claw out your own throat!' A red ball hit the largest Hollow and paralyzed it. Jumping up and punching it, releasing a large amount of reietsu, his technique "Shadow arc" Ripped off it's head.
Kai had been cornered by the hollows. One struck down, being blocked the while the other swung. Instead of Ken jumping toward him and blocking the hit, he punched the hollow across the ground. He took the best route to completing the mission. Kai realized this and understood that Depending on Ken for protection would be pointless. Ken told Asuka to finish the hollow, which she did. The last hollow had killed Kai, he was caught off guard thinking about what happened.
Though it seemed to hit Ken, it didn't hit him in a way that he was sad. More or less that the report would be bad. Ken started to recite another Kidou spell incantation. 'Gaia! Mother earth! Place upon thigh foe the binding of the mightiest of your roots!' Though instead of finishing it, he used it to hold the monster down. Gathering Reietsu in his fist, he pummeled the rock and the beast, constantly releasing Reietsu at the point of impact to increase the damage. The hollow disappeared.
'Time to wake up' A scientist called out. 'The simulation went very well!' Kai looked in disgust of how he died. Asuka looked very frightened, Ken didn't have a look at all. He simply nodded and left. Much like him, he was the first to leave. The doctors recorded their study and released the other two. Both would need time to get over what they had just went through. There was one thing he leaned during that training. Fight for yourself, and nothing else.
Final arch:
Kenshiki was now 500, he had not yet joined one of the squads, although he was sure that he could. He wanted to increase his power and he wouldn't let anything get in his way. During these years, Kai had really passed, he had been ambushed by a group of Arrancar in Karakura town while he was patrolling. Though Kenshiki wasn't fond of the man, he had his respect.
Kai was dreaming of joining one of the squads, so to respect the man, Kenshiki would join a squad, following his dream for him. He didn't know if he would make it or not, but he was sure that Kai, where ever he may be at that moment, that he would be happy. Asuka, she also joined a squad, but she was in the human world, when she was ambushed by the same arrancar. She wasn't killed, luckily she was a part of the medical squad, and she was healed. Her life as a shinigami though, was now finished.
Kenshiki trains to this day, never allowing the people he passed to get a trace of power clsoe to his. The time is now, and he would show Asuka that he can be great, for the both of them.
Picture of Character:
Sample Chapter: This is a sample of me as Oodama, my vizard. I will do a new one if it is necessary. (Apparently I like that word today.)It was a bone chilling night, as the wind passed, it would seem almost as if soft, bony, cold hands swept down your back. It was a beautiful night, it was adoring, it was...peaceful. The crickets rubbed their legs together, the birds slept, keeping their eggs warm, the animals slept in their caves, trees, waters. Nothing could disturbed such a beautiful night. And one young man felt the same way. He was young looking, he was a kind person, and he was very...very tired. His head fell back agaisnt the tree as he sat up against the tree trunk. Half closed, crimson eyes traced the outlines of the buildings and the homes of the humans that stayed in this city. Lately, Oodama, while not being in Hueco Mundo, stopped attacking hollows, he ceased from stopping when they tried to eat humans. He was straying more and more from his Shinigami past. Standing from his sitting position, it was about time he moved from his little hide away. Letting out a soft sigh, he brushed back his raven colored hair, the deep, dark, red eyes that were securely locked in the sockets of his head stared forward for a brief moment. He had to check the area, he didn't want a shinigami to see him, while he was on level, or even stronger than some captains, he wasn't ready to take on a platoon, and if they had their vice captain, that would make it even harder. And well, this day, Oodama really didn't want to fight. He was tired, and he had just got done training. Of course, testing out his new bankai control would be fun, but the rings still plagued his fingers, and hindered him from really using his bankai. That would no doubt be the next thing on his list to get removed. Sighing softly, he flickered away. SFX: Tap In a moment, Oodama was atop the building. His figure perfect as his clothing settled from their flapping position. The white tunic, made from the finest silk, made the best tailors, wrestled around with the wind until he took dominance and slowly floated down onto his back. Dominance. The one word that Oodama loved to say, for many reasons. His hollow for one, hated the word, that was a great reason to say it. Another reason, he had dominance in the hollow-shinigami relationship. He won their fight, he took over while the hollow was stuck in his core. Stuck in the deepest part of the shinigami's soul, decaying from the inside out as it got no action. Oodama was the king, and he planned to stay as such. He didn't want to become him, to wither into nothing like the beast had. That would be him worse than the beast. That would make him the beasts' prey. SFX: Swoosh And in another moment, Oodama was gone. Another shunpo, another step. He wanted to stay away from the area. The activity was starting to pick up, and surely a shinigami would appear. And then it happened. A reietsu, not strong, nor was it particularly weak. It was a mix between the two. A gillian? What was it doing in here? No, this was different, tilting his head to the side. This gillian had a separate mask than th rest of em. No matter, Drawing his sword, he couldn't let this thing run around and cause mayhem. To eat the unsuspecting souls. In a single moment, in a single, quick movement, the hollow was gone. Shunpoing down to the earth, Oodama sighed again, sheathing his blade. Unaware of the nearing danger....if that's what it was. | |
