Name: Heika Numa (Pronounced as "noo-MAH")
Age: 82
Visual Age: 13
Gender: Male
Division: 12
Personality: Heika is generally friendly, but can become angry if put under stress. He always likes to have a plan, and is fairly adaptable to any situation. Anyone he thinks he can trust will have his loyalty. And his loyalty is a good thing to have.
Appearance: (I'll try to find an image...) Black hair that always manages to go anywhere but up. He's about 5'2", and, while at first glance he looks frail, anyone looking closely will see that that is not the case; he just isn't overly muscled.
History/Background: Heika was born on June 13th, 1927 in Nagasaki, Japan. However, his parents left the country at the beginning of World War II, instead choosing to aid the Allies in the war rather than supporting the military rule. His father was a military surgeon on the eastern border of France until the day of the German takeover in 1940; Heikai died along with both his parents.
Heika waited for years as a ghost, earth-bound to the spot where his parents had been killed. He somehow knew he was a ghost; what he didn't know was how to release himself from the spot. It wasn't until the end of WWII that he was finally released by a Shinigami-one that would go on to be his friend and mentor-and was sent to Soul Society.
Due to this rescue, it took very little time for Heika to ask about the Shinigami, and then to join the Shinigami academy. After becoming a Shinigami and joining his division, he set off to find the Shinigami that had saved him.
He found him, of course, and at the right time: Jaren (as Heika would learn he was called) was in the middle of a battle with a Hollow, and it gave Heika a time to prove himself. The Hollow was defeated between the two of them, and Heika finally and officially met the man he owed so much to. Jaren taught him much, and it was a relieved miracle that they were stationed together. Hollows were defeated, souls were sent on their way, and lessons were learned.
But after 20 years of fighting together, they met their match. Two high-level Hollows began to cause mahem; Heika chased after one, Jaren after the other. True to form, Jaren defeated his Hollow quickly, but Heika, in a moment of arrogance and carelessness, tried a gamble and failed. Jaren managed to save him, but only at the cost of his own life. Heika promised himself that he would never make a mistake like that again. He would plan his movements, and wouldn't take any unnecessary risks. It had cost much, but Heika would do his best to make sure it didn't happen again.
((Not my best story, but it's all I have right now.))
