Personality: [ Nobunaga has a multitude of facets to his personality, but the most notable are that he is wild, a warmonger, brutal, cocky, stubborn, social, impulsive, relentless, frivolous, sometimes clueless, and exhibits eccentric behavior. He is a being, which first and foremost indulges in the thrills of combat. A battle to him is the open opportunity to shed blood, cause mayhem, close the eyes to life, and cause destruction. Because who in there right mind doesn’t get some kind of pleasure in that type of unruly behavior. Nobunaga will often state, ‘The more lethal the foe, the more lethal I become.’ Basically saying that when both he and his opponent have complete disregard for ones very existence he will be at his peak, though this has yet to be proven. The overgrown shingami strongly prefers improvisation and cheap tricks over tactical combat feeling it is a waste of time thinking up strategies amidst a battle and things can be dealt with on a moment to moment basis. He also hates kidou since performing incantations takes up too much valuable fighting time and views them as a waste of breath. Once in awhile however, one will see the melee shinigami cast a kidou, nevertheless it is a rare sight to see if it happens.

Nobunaga is one of those odd people that doesn’t seek gratitude nor does he really give it, even if it is a fellow Captain shinigami he is indebted to. Many find this rude and disrespectful, but the large standing individual sees things like helping and saving someone in peril as a duty. Something that is expected of what a shinigami is supposed to perform. So because of this he often finds his self at odds with others who resent him for his thanklessness behavior.

Furthermore, Nobunaga is not a socially biased being and will communicate with anyone no matter the age, be it the 1st division Captain or the poorest child of the Runkongai district, he never sees no one as unequally fit. Another annoying trait the shinigami flaunts is he sometimes can tend to forcefully push into conversations that either aren’t his business or that he has no reason to be in often leading to trouble.

Yet with being over a century old you would think Nobunaga would retain some wisdom, but its one thing that every member in the Gotei 13 knows is not to ask one man for advice, Nobunaga. On a plethora of different occasion and even on the one’s that many don’t know about, he has habitually given terrible, horrible, just plain awful guidance. He once had steered a shinigami comrade (who was dumb for asking and taking his advice) during their academy days. The mysterious boy was seeking counsel on how to achieve his bankai. The loopy shinigami had told him to jump off the highest cliff because bankai’s release when massive air currents flow through an individuals Zanpakuto. Later on it was reported that he had died from committing suicide, but only one man knew of the real truth.

Aside from being a real talker Nobunaga is a undomesticated rebellious body. Only vaguely obeying orders that are given to him. He follows the orders of other the other Captains and superiors, but with a bad attitude and he may ‘ACCIDENTALLY’ break protocol. Above all else Nobunaga prides himself with his squad. Often making horrible depictions of animals in the form of macaroni art for the other members, who probably just destroy it when behind closed doors. He will proudly give his life for a squad member if they have the identical mutual trust and understanding in him, as he does for them.

When approaching the unique personality it is safe to say expect the unexpected. For no one at one moment can know what is racing through that scrambled brain of his, not unless he is fighting. Also one must never judge a book by its cover, though you can judge at least half of this one ]

Appearance:

[ Many women find Nobunaga to be very hansom, but most are usually turned off by his personality once they explore the universe of his character. Starting at the top Nobunaga has jet black hair that has a dim shine when under any lighted conditions. His personal preference of hairstyle is unkempt and wild, preferring the dreaded bed head or he may once in awhile switch it up with a Mohawk to give his bad boy image a sharper edge. His eyes are not your standard gray eyes seeing that many get lost staring into the matchless smoky hues. While in combat his enemies compare them to peering into a silvered abyss that is continuously filled with a perpetual rage and sadistic enjoyment. Nobunaga face is smooth and evenly proportioned, but being more slender and long, then wide. The only part that disturbs the sleekness of his face is five O'clock shadow that the shinigami keeps lingering located in the regions of the mustache area, the chin, and the jawline. This gives him a rugged guise, which if not all then the majority of the women usually fall for. His lips are thin and perfectly aligned in his mouth are pearly white teeth that the death god takes extreme pride in never once missing a good mornings brush. His neck is thin whilst his shoulders are a bit broad. Being 6’7” Nobunaga is long-limbed for his height and weighs a surprising 200 pounds. Besides all that the bellicose being has two scars that decorate his face, one being a vertical strike through his left eye reminiscent of a past hollow battle. The other scar is located just below the lower left area of his mouth, the mark was gained from a street fight in the rukongai when the shinigami was nothing, but a street imp.

Physically Nobunaga is fit and doesn’t boast a ripped or bulky build, however the shinigami seemed to find a perfect medium of the two landing somewhere in-between. Give it he is a bit a lanky, but he is not some stick figure, additionally one must never underestimate his strength for those who do would be in for a nasty surprise as the captain is massively strong physically. He is blessed with what every male wants and dreams of, washboard abs, but this is not just for show. This is his most focused muscle group since everything supposedly starts with a solid core.

Upon being promoted to Captaincy his uniform has since then been refined and no longer resembles its once tattered form. He as well has a fond liking to his Captain Haori that on the back is decorated with the trademark division nine insignia. He has foregone the normal obi and instead replaced it with a white shimenawa (Thick braided rice rope) tied in a bow fashion. His Zanpakuto makes its home on his left hip ready to be drawn for battle at a moments notice. He also doesn’t sport the normal straw sandals like most, as an alternative the tall wiry frame wears geta footwear which only adds on to his tremendous height. He in addition prefers to go barefoot as well feeling that tabi socks just make his feet stink. Nobunaga also took the liberty of piercing both of his ears with miniscule gold hoops that hang through each of ear lobes in a defiance to the way a shinigami should normally look. The Captain also carries with him a beautifully decorated parasol that has a cherry blossom design upon the top of its surface. Wherever the Captain goes his parasol seems to constantly be in his left hand no matter the location or weather ]

History/Background:

[ Human Life: ]

[ Edo, Nobunaga was born onto Ryoga and Shin Edo. They both were parents who had cared very deeply for there little boy. He was their very epicenter and they tended to the boy’s every needs. They also as he grew older taught him how one should live. What Nobunaga father referred to as ‘the necessaries’. Nobunaga listened, but he was a rebellious spirit. No mater what his behavior though he still had an undying care for his parents.

However on a stormy day, when he had reached the ripe age of twelve rainfalls had hit the surrounding area bad. Inevitably flash flooding the region as one of the rivers had overflowed quickly with excess water. That day though Nobunaga had went out to play in the rain, but his parents after that day had never heard from the boy again ]

[ Planted into the Soul Society: ]

[ After Nobunaga had died, he was brought back to the 80th district of Rukongai. The first thought that propelled through his youthful mind like any other child in a peculiar setting was curiousness as the shy young miscreant now existed in a world that was unknown to him. Then what settled in next and manifested itself in the juvenile was a fear of the world around him. He was just a mere boy not knowing truly how to function on his own and be independent from the care of others. His way of life had taken a hard hit and the first week in this fresh environment had wrecked the boy, as it was sure he would soon face death…again.

One day, when Nobunaga was wondering aimlessly through the slum streets of the district on his last whim, he was spotted by a dingy burly man. One that once he looked at the boy and had spotted the fear in his eyes thought he had an opportunity to turn the child into a servant of his, or possibly to serve some other purpose for gaining currency. When he had approached the adolescent he had made it very clear what he had intended to do with the child. Frozen stiff, Nobunaga was paralyzed with a jolt of fear and didn’t know what to do. However, that day fortune was radiating its beams of luck on him as a band of seven boys and a girl came to his rescue. Instantly, with hit and run tactics they easily subdued the giant man, hog tying him like a cowboy. The attack was orchestrated by the eldest of the group who Nobunaga would come to know as Tsuyoshi.

Tsuyoshi was an odd boy, but had a tough and wild personality that couldn’t be disciplined by the sternest of drill instructors. He just had something about him that made others gravitate to his very essence and Nobunaga was no exception. From that day on he had pledged a loyalty to Tsuyoshi and his gang. Instantly becoming an entity of that untamed bunch who ran carefree through the streets fighting for their survival. Now with a new outlook and a much better situation, the persona of Nobunaga would flourish. His docile attitude would grow into its own as the boy become much like Tsuyoshi, but just maybe some different variations in the personalities, well maybe some huge differences in the personalities. Still the two got along well and would become best friends. It wasn’t before long the two would argue over just about everything, but oddly agreed on scores of other things. The horde had been living well, and with nine strong they would surely be alright……. ]

[ Growing into the Soul Society: ]

[ Decades would pass and the gang that had stood at nine strong now had dwindled down to four. The years were hard on the group as four of them had died, but one had thrived and gone on to join the ranks of the shinigami. The ever steady growing boy’s death had become nothing, just a mere shadow and a closure on that had been met a long time ago. By now Nobunaga knowledge of the soul society had grown considerably as well from when he was just a meek child. He knew what it meant when one went on to be a shinigami and knew that he too possessed the power to possibly go on and maybe have a better life. He and Tsuyoshi would have countless fights over joining, but being bullheaded, Tsuyoshi never agreed. Still despite there constant squabbling and falling out the two were inseparable. They along with the others would become infamous in their district and did whatever for a chance to earn money. Nobunaga on top had grown significantly in size and had become a bruiser, a bully in the streets. He like the next man in the district did whatever it was to survive and with Nobunaga he like to (for a lack of a better term) woop ass. The physical specimen over those decades had developed affection for fighting. He enjoyed the adrenaline dump he got each time he brawled and a sudden rush each time his fist collided into anything. He took pleasure in the winning and was glad to survive from losses sustained.

One day though Nobunaga would witness a sight or more so a person that directly effected his life. It was when a Captain level shinigami was seen, but his business in a lowly district such as his was weird. None-the-less when he witnessed the Captain and saw him take out at the time the most powerful fighter in the district without breaking a sweat. Nobunaga swore a promise to himself that day with the intention of eventually becoming that powerful ]

[ Blossoming in the Soul Society: ]

[ Decades had passed again with Nobunaga finding his niche of fighting and brawling in the streets dull. Doing whatever it took to bring in a dime was getting old, plus the life he was living there felt meaningless. He sensed he had some kind of calling and it wasn’t Rukongai district #80. On the other hand Tsuyoshi had been enjoying his self and gave off the notion that he was living it up, satisfied with what they had become and had. Nobunaga being the person who he had developed into told Tsuyoshi how he felt, how he was going to enter into the Shinigami academy with or without him. An infuriated Tsuyoshi had refused to tag along and the two that had been friends for so long paths had now separated ]

[ Rebirth: Planted Shinigami: ]

[ Upon entering Nobunaga wasn’t some potential shinigami radiating with raw reiatsu or neither was he some kind of genius from birthright . He was just a brawler from the street that enjoyed a good fight, but he would soon find out his physical dominance meant nothing. In addition the noble students didn’t take a liking of him being there so much as he was to them a mere street urchin. This at first pissed off the aspiring shinigami, but after a while he would soon learn to ignore it because of the zanjutsu course.

In Nobunaga first three years that he had experienced he had only progressed in one category and that was zanjutsu. Now when Nobunaga had fought with his bare hands and feet that was one thing, but when the wild being fought with a blade, it had become something totally different than before. He had become a warmonger; even when practicing with the wooden dinky swords that could still manage to get a little rise out of him. He thought of it as if he was fighting with his real Zanpakuto. Though he was very adept at fighting with his Zanpakuto and a strong zanjutsu practitioner he never acquired the name of his blade, thus enabling him to ever perform shikai.

Over the next three years Nobunaga would further himself in his weaker areas and distance himself in zanjutsu. He still didn’t gain any ground on learning his Zanpakuto’s name and would often curse his blade with a waterfall of foul language. He had also acquired a few new friends along the way, one being of high noble blood, and the other of lower nobility. It was almost as if it was old times again, which made Nobunaga often wonder how his former counter part was doing. He hoped his heart was still beating on ]

[ Re-growth: Shinigami in the Soul Society: ]

[ Nobunaga had gradated from the academy third in his class which was extremely good for someone who didn’t have nothing, but natural fighting instinct. Excited he had foregone applying for a division, but knew what division he was probably going to be in anyhow. The overzealous overgrown shinigami instantly went back to district #80 to brag to his friend Tsuyoshi what he had accomplished, but much to his surprise he wasn’t anywhere to be found. That’s when a concerned Nobunaga had started to interrogate everyone in the district, even the kids. Much to his dismay he had heard Tsu had died, of what was unknown, but with that tragic event closed an old chapter of his life.

Thus a new one would begin, but Nobunaga’s shinigami career started on a sour note and not knowing the name of his blade was slowing him down. He had to learn the ability to release his Zanpakuto. With hard work and a hungry driven mind with a appetite for strength and power, Nobunaga had finally made a connection with his sword. Over the next several years the battle-hungered shinigami would hone his skills taking his self to a whole new plateau of power. He later would start carving a ruthless path on his way through the ranks.

Nobunaga would plateau in the eleventh division at the third seat in a very short amount of time which was impressive to say the least. Following that the next few years would consist of the beanstalk doing missions that tended to be repetitive, but he individually cherished them. The opportunity to go out and once again feed off the nutrition of combat while bettering his self physically and mentally. However, it appeared that the massive shinigami escalating power was going unnoticed and under the radar of most. That was until he was approached by Jaden Yoshinaru and for a year was trained by the C. C. himself. After a year of molding the young malleable mind and body of the over-sized shinigami, Jaden would promote Nobunaga to Lieutenant of the first division. Now Nobunaga has reached a level of power that tastes great, but he wants more and will only continue along his path to supremacy ]

[ The Blossoming Shinigami ]

[ Nobunaga had achieved his Bankai in secrecy, but not to all as his very Captain took notice of the immense development in the former lieutenants spiritual pressure. So as a result Nobunaga was promoted to head of squad nine and with that Nobunaga has now taken over the division and plans to make changes. Moreover he continues to grow in power and the gains he has taken have been substantial, but he continues to want more ]

An idle Nobunaga stood waiting impatiently with an ill-tempered look cascading on his face that would even straighten the hair on the back of a captain’s neck. His fiery black pupils danced around looking to and fro for a sign of them, but there was not a single body in sight. Currently the restless beanstalk stood in the hall of a Seiretei corridor, the reason for would remain unknown until it was time. Placed in his right hand was a bamboo cup with two square cubes in it that would play a large role in the big picture. However, if someone who walked by had an infatuation with gambling then what events was about to proceed would be blatantly obvious. His left had hand rested casually on his Zanpakuto hilt and the man was positioned in an unwanted silence.

’What the Hell? I told the fools to be here ten minutes ago. Ah!’ The charcoal colored hair body had thought. This was no time to be late nor not a admirable time for him to be seen the hallway. He had previously got in trouble for the same actions prior and knew he might be severely punished if caught with his hand in the cookie jar once again. Then seemingly popping out of no where five bodies turned a corner sprinting in Nobunaga’s course. When they were all but a few feet from the tall straighten frame one them began to speak, ”Now Nobu………Ah!" The man didn’t even get a chance to utter the shinigami’s name before his own left knuckle was making a perfect imprint on his forehead. The shinigami that received the below dropped on the ground twitching. Nobunaga looked at the lot them before his lips would start moving, ”NOW YOU KNOW….. The statuesque man had said with a thunder in his voice, but he swiftly realized he had to tone it down, ”Now you know I got in trouble for this before, but hey lets play……..CHO-HAN!” Once Nobunaga slid open the fusuma, out of the blue all the bodies tried to rush in the door at once resulting in a five man sandwich that was lodged in the doorway, Hey! Get off….." One of the men had stated, ”Ah! Would….." Another retorted, ”Nobu….uh. naga you big baboon move!”

As they sat there struggling to get free one man trying to gain freedom for the other one would ask why? As soon as Nobunaga surged through the doorway one of his geta dragged sloppily along the ground resulting in him flopping face first as the others just trampled over the eleventh division member’s body. He rose to his feet in a quiet anger as the disgust was written all over his face. One of the men then evilly glared in Nobunaga’s direction as his lips parted with a cold icy tone, ”Guess who has to be dice roller?”

Moments later…..

Nobunaga slowly slid the fusuma opened to reveal a bunny costume wearing giant. The entire outfit was pink except for the bunny tail, but the suit didn’t quite fit Nobunaga being that he was much larger than his shinigami counterparts. The suit on him looked like a grown man trying on a little girls Halloween’s out fit. His face was disgusted, but suddenly it went to one of joy. With the dice in his left hand and the bamboo cup in his right the dice roller was selected and the game was set. Quickly he made his way to the head of the table next, Nobunaga foot rose and slammed on oshiki with his left arm pointing to the middle of the table while his palm was overturned, ”Gentlemen starting wagers!?!?”
