Picking a Lt. for the 6 Division (If you want the spot, come and claim it)

Lyon slowly walks the area with Kage Tsurugi on his back, it was a beautifull day, and the life inside the Sereitei was running like it always does...normally, and sometimes, boring. The 6 division was a total mess at the moment, and Lyon needed to re-arranje the things so that the division could become strong again, like it used to be.
Lyon feels the wind on his face, while he uses shunpo to jump to the top of a buiçlding, a tower. Watching the Shinigami who pass by there, and seeing if anyone noticed his presence. Today he would choose a Lt. and to do that, he was going to fight anyone that wanted to apply for the spott. He feels the wind razing the buildings, and a leaf fell on his hand, dancing between his fingers, and felling on the roof, before he could have the chance to look at it properly.

Lyon looks up to the sky and examines it, watching as the clouds pass, shaping the particles of water on the sky coming toghether and re-shaping the clouds in many forms, dancing with the wind that runs on the skies.
As a new Captain, this yyoungman who they call Lyon needed an assistant, and new members. If they wanted the spot...they should come up and claim it. A real shinigami must fight for what he wants, and what he desires, and for his objectives.

Lyon Raigen then unsheathes his zanpakutou, and hears a voice on his head...his zan's spirit was talking to him:

Don´t be mean to them...they are shinigamis Lyon...we can not kill them...
Lyon smiles softly when he finds who is speaking...no one else could hear her voice, and a beautifull voice she had...Lyon Raigen was a peacefull man...and energic to...so he answers with his energic voice:
Do not worry, Kage Tsurugi...I do not intend to kill anyone, I just want to test their skill...and see what they are able to do.
Just dont get to cocky...there are a lot of strong shinigamis out there...
I know...but I trust you...I trust our abilities...and we wont lose.
I know.

[OOC: Ok lets hold off on the battle for now, I just registered and need to make my zan^^]

A patter of uniform foot steps echoed down the maze like pathways of the seretei as a new recruit graced the thirteen court guards for the first time in full fledged uniform. A slight gale kicked up, flapping open his kimono revealing a light skin toned chest with a rather toned muscular structure offset by a long scar extending all the way up from the right side of his abdominals to the right side of his brow. His facial expression was in somewhat of a rut as he furrowed his brow in frustration as his light blue eyes pierced through his green haired bangs." Those bastards have the nerve to just shove me aside, hand me an insignia, and order me in the direction of the 6th squad barracks." Shorin intoned to himself as he gritted his teeth and folded his arms, he absolutely hated to be bossed around, especially when it wasn't even necessary.

As he made his way down few the pathway in an angry rut a slight pierce of spiritual pressure had caught his attention. Though if he wasn't so focused on thinking about the situation at the recruitment office he probably would never have noticed it. Shorin torqued his neck to the right and panned his head upward, his eyes focusing on a figure seemingly perched upon the tower just above." Hmph? Whats that guy doing just sitting up there?" He uttered to himself as he soon turned his full body in the figures direction. Any other instance Shorin would have been too lethargic to even consider giving the slightest bit of care to someone gazing from above but he was in an irritable mood.

" I suppose I'll investigate " He thought with a half cocked grin, because by investigate he meant stir up trouble and possibly get into a fight. He would love nothing more than to blow off some steam before heading over to meet his captain and squad mates at the 6th division. Besides, who wants to see their new recruit with an attitude on their first day. The olive headed recruit caught a few pockets of wind as he shunpo'd at a moderate pace, scaling his way up to the top of the tower. There he would find a man before him, with his zanpkatou drawn out, though his body language seemed a bit threatening his face seemed as though he was in thought." What are you doing all the way up here? You know its a bit suspicious to be looking down on people from above." He uttered in a stern tone as he put his hands on his hips, awaiting for the mans reply.

Lyon was calmly talking to Kage Tsurugi, telling jokes and talking about stuff. They used to do it all the time, while the other shinigami consider their sword a weapon, Lyon considers it a Friend. The only reason someone could ever be killed on a battle, was if they did not trust their weapon, it doesn't matter if it is a zapnakutoun, or a doll, no matter. It's a weapon, and most of the weapons, have a soul, a soul that must be respected, in order to defeat enemies on the battlefield. The bond created by a man and his sword can be the key for victory, and Kage Tsurugi and Lyon...they had that bond.

Lyon was smiled when Kage Tsurugi spoke, she felt the presence of a shinigami, some spiritual pressure, Lyon looks down from the roof and spots a man using shunpo...he had felt his presence....not bad...since Lyon was hiding his reiatsu. Lyon calmly releases his spirit and releases all his reiatsu....a very powerfull spiritual pressure extends from Lyon's body, to the area around the tower...then he calms down a little and listens to the man, who speaks to him...after carefully listening to the man, Lyon calmly spoke:
Hello...your name is? I am Lyon Raigen, Captain of the 6th squad, and I am looking for a Lt....are you here to apply for the spot? Hum....I never saw you before...Are you a newbie?

[OOC: For some reason my zan is only halfway approved which makes no sense to me, but what can you do. So here I go with the post anyway without further adieu..]

Shorin stood with a rough smirk on his face, he was anxious to try and get a negative reaction out of the man to satisfy his boiling frustration. However his bubbling frustration soon turned into stomach full of butterflies as the man let out a fearsome reiatsu that surrounded the tower for a few moments. The sheer pressure made it difficult for the new recruit to breathe without flexing his abdominals to give his lungs support." The hell!? Whats up with this guy's reiatsu?" He exclaimed in thought as he shielded his face with his forearms from the surging wind caused by this great spiritual force. Although it was dramatic the man's release of reiatsu was very brief, as to why the man felt the need to release so much reiatsu was beyond Shorin.

Perhaps he felt threatened, or maybe it was a warning not to come any closer. Whatever the reason the olive headed shinigami felt it best to respect the mans wishes, he had fought a lot of battles back at the academy, but never had he felt such a pressure so strong.A dead silence encompassed the area for a few moments as the winds began to settle back to their delicate nature. Shorin removed his arms from in front of his face as the violent surge of reiatsu had subsided, as he reverted back to his upright position his demeanor had completely changed." Wait, hes the 6th squad Captain!? Damn, that would have been the ass kicking of a life time, thank god he said something or I may not have lived a full day as a full fledged shinigami." He said in thought, as he stood in awe of his apparently new captain Lyon Raigen.

" Y-You need a lieutenant, thats odd I would assume the squad would already have one, but then again what do I know Its my first day out of the academy" He replied facetiously as he let out wide grin in hopes to lighten the mood but with no such luck. He then transitioned into a more serious demeanor and adjusted his throat before speaking again." The names Tsugetsu Shorin, remember it because I'm gonna be the greatest shinigami the seretei has ever seen. And you guessed it right, I'm a new recruit to the 6th division, nice to meet you Raigen Taichou!" He said with lively body language in an up beat tone of voice. He was still shaken, but now a bit more excited for two reason. The first, he actually found his captain with no clue where he was going and the second, because he had a chance to potentially advance to the vice captain rank provided Shorin was as strong as he thought he was.

[OOC: No worries...we have time, btw, maybe your zan is aproved, but the techniques are not...talk with a mod ^^]

Lyon yawns a little when his reiatsu comes back to normal, he stretches his arms and gloves, then he grabs his zan and puts it back on its place...."I'm sorry Kage Tsurugi...you will have to wait a little bit...
Sure....no problem... she spoke, while the spirit next to Lyon yawns and disappears like if there was a dense mist covering it. Then, Lyon smiles and looks to the other shinigami, examining him. he was an energical youngman, just like Lyon, except there was an huge difference between their reiatsus. Lyon gently smiles to the youngman and sais:
Hello Tsugetsu-kun, you are the new guy on my squad right? Well, to answer your question, no. We do not have a Lt. You know, the squad was a mess when I arrived here, and the old captain left...so...its jjust you and me...although you will have to fight for your spot. I wonder if anyone else is going to join us...meh....who cares right? Let us have some fun!

The Captain of the 6th division points his hand, with his two fingers pointed at the oponent, then he calmly speaks:
Hadõ nº 4... Byakurai!
as he fires a concentrated, powerful lightning bolt from his finger. "I doubt that a shinigami on his first day out of the academy can do anything good....a normal Lt. would take 40 years to reach his or her position...but maybe this guy can do it....just maybe" Lyon thinks, as he watches the lightning bolt advancing at the oponent with an extreme speed. Then, he looks down from the tower, trying to search anyone who wanted to join them.

To be a Captain, or an elite, shinigami must walk a ,long road, in order to improve his or her skills, and defeat more enemies, and who wants power, seeks a battle.


As the kidõ hits something, and small particles are repulsed from the ground to completely different directions, Lyon feels the wind breeze caused by the explosion on his face..."Ah...the good wind of battle...a little bit more and it will freeze...that would be good...I bet Kage Tsurugi is allready tired of being inactive, if there is a battle, she will join me."
He thought, as he imagines the techniques he can do with his shikai and bankai.Nice to meet you to, Tsugetsu-kun! Lyon said with an energic smile on his face. He was very happy that his squad would gain a new member...but does he have enough to be a Lt.? Let's see....

Shorin scratched his dark green cropped hair as he had overheard Raigen muttering something that had absolutely nothing to do with the context of their conversation. From what the new recruit had overheard it sounded like he was talking to someone else. The boisterous shinigami scurried his light blue eyes from left to right scanning the area for perhaps another presence he did not pick up on earlier but to no avail. " I wonder who Kage Tsurugi is?" He intoned in thought as he soon shrugged his shoulders, displaying his loss in interest to his prior curiosity. The young reaper listened intently as Raigen had explained how the 6th division was in a state of chaotic hiatus and that up until now it had been lacking a captain along with a vast majority of its division as well. But before Shorin could formulate his opinion on the matter it seemed his new captain had gotten a little trigger happy after mentioning Shorin would have to fight for the Lieutenant. spot. "Damn it!" The olive headed lieutenant hopeful exclaimed as he quickly withdrew his katana and met the stream of lightning head on with the sharp metal of his blade. His zanpaktou glowed a bright blue and white hue as it conducted the electricity before being subject to the powerful blast that came behind the hado technique. The blasts impact wasn't quite enough to knock the ambitious shinigami down but it did jut him back a few feet." Blah! I freakin hate kidou, so annoying!"

He exclaimed in thought as he wrinkled his face in frustration as he eased the reiatsu flow from his right hand which was gripping the hilt of his zanpaktou tightly. If it were not for his quick thought to energize his hilt with reiatsu to keep the electric current from conducting past the blade he would have been fried for sure." Now when you said I would have to fight for the Lieutenant spot I was under the impression that fight was with another contender, not you Raigen Taichou." He stated with a half cynical grin as he prepared to mount an offense of his own." I must warn you I hate kidou with a passion and its not my strongest aspect. But then again, that"s never stopped me before! Hadõ nº 4... Byakurai! " Shorin exclaimed facetiously as he outstretched his off hand index finger and actually aimed it at his own blade, igniting his zanpaktou in a looping trend of blue and white hues yet again. The young Lieutenant hopeful stood poised in his battle position as he held his hilt firm whilst his blade screeched with the loud currents of electrically energy that was currently enveloping it. Shorin soon left a vibrant silhouette of himself behind as he shunpo'd at top speed toward Raigen before re appearing a couple feet in front of him with his electrically charged blade aimed at slashing down and electrifying his pectorals. " But a fights a fight right!?" Shorin exclaimed in a loud yell as he attempted to put as much force behind his electrifying slash as possible.

Lyon gets a little embarassed when Tsugetsu asks him if he was going to fight another shinigami for the Lt. spot....well, there was no Lt. so what could he do?
"Meh....It was supposed to be like that, but it looks like no one else is going to join us...so ya have to fight the Captain...to bad huh? But, as you said, a fight is a fight, and you just started losing" Said the man, while he unsheathes his zanpakutou again, and points it to the oponent who was moving against him with a shunpo speed.
"Cut...and Freeze Kage Tsurugi."
Simple words....words that could be the death of someone, or the power of another.
It's time...Lyon-kun...Let's freeze! Lyon gets a litle bit surprised, his zapakutou's spirit had just told him to hold on and take it easy on the new guy, but she was so excited with all this thing..."I guess it can not be helped..." Lyon thought while his zapakutou gained a new color, and the power which was coming from it raises.

When Lyon uses his zapakutou to sucessfully block the oponent's atack, the blade gains a new power and let's the oponent's blade release all of the atack's power. Then, Kage Tsurugi manipulates those particles and turns them into ice. Frozing.
Lyon then watches his oponent moving behind him, and turns back to face him.
As I said...you have just started to loose. Look to your zanpakutou...Ba-ka. Lyon sighs while he watches the frosty bit covering half of the oponent's zan, and freezing his hand to, now his oponent could not move his hand, and could not let go his zanpakutou.

Then, Lyon makes exactly the same move his oponent did, except Lyon had his shikai activated....how much funny could this would be...?

Shorin's eyes widened as he brought his sword around to attempt to slash Raigens pectorals, at that moment he had felt his reiatsu surge up drastically." A release!" He exclaimed in thought as he attempted to hasten his slash but the force from his captains release brushed him back just enough, allowing Raigen to defend his slash in time with what appeared to be his shikai. As the two zanpaktous clashed each blade tradedelectrical currents with one another for a descent duration before the electricity from Shorins byakurai waned. " Cut and freeze Kage Tsurugi. I guess it makes sense now, Kage Tsurugi is his zanpaktou. That must be who he was talking to before. Interesting." He uttered in thought as he flexed his biceps, trying to gain the advantage in their brief zanjutsu struggle.

Before long Raigen spoke once again, with the same tone of arrogance as before as he noticed a terrible frost beginning to envelope his blade along with his primary hand." So ice is your zanpaktou nature, I truly hate the cold. But loosing is a strong statement considering you know nothing of my abilities." He stated as he noticed that his hand was frozen to the hilt of his blade." Tch! What a bother." He thought, as he took a deep breath, his ocean blue eyes narrowing in on Raigens incoming blade." Show them your fang, Oujutora!" Shorin shouted as a fierce orange rieatsu protruded from his zanpaktou with great force interupting Raigens blade strike and bursting forth the ice from his hand and blade. In that instance his blade transformed from an average black katana to a large rectangular cleaver-like sword adorned with orange and black stripes. The hilt was square and black with a single ivory tiger fang ornament along with a long red tassle hanging from the bottom.

" Normally I dont like to fallback on my shikai so soon but against a captain it seems I wont be able to play around carelessly like I'm used to doing. Although I'm flattered you deemed me worthy of even drawing your sword let alone releasing it." He replied as he shunpo'd backward putting a descent distance between him and Raigen, attacking recklessly anymore at this point would only be foolish without gauging Raigens zanpaktou abilities more thoroughly. For a hot headed bully, shorin was surprisingly very poised and analytical in battle, more so than a lot of people realized. His aggressive bone headed demeanor is often taken as ignorance as oppose to it being just his sheer personality." Like I said before,I'm gonna be the greatest shinigami the seretei has ever seen and the 6th squad lieutenant spot is just the first step.So fasten your seatbelt because my destiny awaits!" He exclaimed as he let out a large surge of orange reiatsu that enveloped his entire body and stretched many feet up into the air. One could notice his sword was glowing with a strong light of concentration as if it was storing energy for something to come.

Lyon gently smiles when he watches the ice breaking, it loooks like the oponent's zanpakutou is a very agressive type...hum, this would definitly be fun.
His cold blue eyes turned on the oponent's direction, and while he takes a deep breath before he can say, with his gently smile, as always. "As I said, I never understimate my oponent, and even if you want to be the captain, you wont be stronger than me. Never ever. The true strenght of a shinigami lays on the bond he creates with his zapakutou, and you are just using it....you should try to speak with it...but before you do that...survive this battle. Arrogance? No, Lyon was simply speaking what his zan told him long ago. Maybe this was his way of helping his squad, maybe all the zanppakutõs say the same thing to their owners, but the truth is, that Lyon and his zapkautou, Kage Tsurugi, had a very powerfull bond

As the man releases his reiatsu, Lyon does the same thing, but he was not releasing all his reiatsu, only a part of it, a partt that would smash the other spiritual power easier...The young shinigami in front of him needed battle experience, although Lyon knew that he could not beat him, he didn't underestimated him, he just thougt that it would be a long battle.

As the reiatsu is released, Lyon takes this chance to use it, but this time, he would take it to the next level of power, a more powefull hadõ.
"Ye lord! Mask of flesh and bone, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws...Hadõ nº 33! Sokatsui!"
He sais while he Fires a burst of blue spiritual energy at the target, but this time over a wider area and with more power.
"There you have...let us have some fun...Kage Tsurugi....let's do it"
He sais while he uses shunpo to sneak behind his oponent and attempting to slash his back with his Ice Zanpakutou...this would be done at high speed, almost invisible speed.

Shorin shook his head in disapproval of his captains statements, it was so one sided that it was almost offensive to the new recruit, but still he managed to maintain focus." You know Taichou, I'm used to people telling me what I will never be able to achieve and what I won't ever become. They told me I'd never make it out of the academy and that I would never become skilled enough to ever achieve my first release. But here I am before them all, full fledged with my zanpaktou in shikai form, and despite the negativity I am as confident as ever." He stated proudly as his light blue eyes dropped down to gaze at his released zanpaktou.

" You speak only from your personal relationship experience with your own zanpaktou, and with all do respect captain you have no place to denounce the bond between me and Oujutora. I do not use him, we are a team who rely on each other as vessels to achieve harmony between our vying souls. Besides, tigers are not interdependent like most and conversation is the last thing Oujutora would ever want to engage in. We know each others hearts and are acquaint with one another’s souls, that is our bond, that is our relationship as shinigami and zanpaktou!” Shorin exclaimed with pride and passion as he elevated his reiatsu even more to try his best to keep pace with Raigen who had begun to flare up his incredible reiatsu as well.“An incantation! Raigen Taichou sure loves to use that god forsaken kidou.”

He thought as he readied himself for the obvious oncoming assault, he squeezed the handle of his zanpaktou tightly as he closed his eyes, relying for the moment on his other senses. Watching the captain with his eyes would only distract his focus, especially if he were to perform any elevated movement or motions.“ Oujutora, be my eyes and give me strength as you always do.” He thought reassuringly to himself. Shorin could feel he and Oujurtora’s spirits resonating in sync, almost as if they were becoming one.“ Now Shorin, show him our power!” Oujutora exclaimed in Shorin’s thoughts as the young recruit sensed the wide shots of blue kidou fire rush toward him along with a sudden shift in Raigen’s location as his spiritual pressure seemed to be heading towards him swiftly as well.

“ Tora Shindou!” Shorin exclaimed as he opened his eyes and thrusted his trembling sword in a downward arch, releasing the compressed reiatsu it had been storing just prior, making him the epicenter of a 360 degree blast of fearsome strength that would surely damage and or knock back Raigen in some form or fashion due to his close proximity to the epicenter(Shorin), especially while he was already occupied with attempting to perform an attack in the process. It would then blast back the oncoming kidou shots, forcing them back 100 yards in the opposite direction of their original trajectory.“ I’ve got to stay alert and stay attentive, where will he strike from next?” He immediately thought to himself after the blast would have subsided as he brought Oujutora back around and began to concentrate reiatsu into it yet again while poising himself in a defensive posture, prepared for god himself to attack him without mercy.

Lyon sighs when he hears the man talking, a man? No, a young boy. He had no experience....while the young boy moves, Lyon sighs and explains:
You're wrong...Since when using kido on your own zanpakutou is believing in your powers? Believing on it's powers?! Tell me. You can't right? And, again, you atack without thinking carefully...not that you had time to think...but...
Also, since you insist on saying that you will be the strongest shinigami ever, I'l show what you will have to surpass.
With a smile, Lyon simply holds his zanpakutou , Kage Tsurugi, and blocks the atack of the oponent, with a simple move...this would not be possible if Kage Tsurugi didn't had her special powers. Kage Tsurugi turns the power of the oponent's move against him...at least thats one of her known abilities. And, since the other oponent's zanpakutou used a power based move, it gave Lyon his victory....probably.
The power particles were manipulated into Ice, and this ice froze the hand of the oponent and his zanpakutou. This was a stronger ice, since the power of the oponent's move was so powerfull.
Then, Lyon smiled and released all his reiatsu at once,, smashing the oponent's reiatsu and making it dificult for him to move. Taking this chance, Lyon moves his hand and his zapakutou, and attempted to slash the oponent's back. He would not die...he would lose.
Sometimes, you need to be stronger before you go and try to hit your objectives...
Lyon would continue his speech, but he needed to see something before...see Tsugetsu's reaction first.

It was the great day in Seiretei, but not for Saikuro. After getting mobbed by local ruffians for "accidentally" slicing off their belts for bullying an innocent bystander, he then had to pay for the damages that the brutes caused on the said innocent's market place. With a sign of stress the new Shinigami recruit was suddenly stopped by one of his fellow classmates Tame. They were the best of friends, and only grew closer as time flew by, though they were polar opposites. Saikuro was an intelligent child prodigy of the Shinigami Academy who graduated top of his class, Tame on the other hand was almost dead last. Though as they say, opposites attract.

"Hey, Saikuro!" Tame exclaimed to his friend.

"Oh. What's up Tame?" Saikuro asked.

"You're part of the 6th division right? Well I just saw your captain fighting some other guy near a tower. You should go check it out." Tame insisted.

Saikuro nodded as he took off as fast as he could. He was very intrigued on the matter, and he had nothing else to do. Besides, what's the worst that could happen?

As he approached the location however, he found it harder to breathe, and even harder to stand, and he wasn't even within ten feet of the action yet.

So this is the power of a captain? Incredible. Saikuro thought as he used shear willpower to press forward. As he got within eye shot he was barely holding himself up with his legs, instead he decided to use the support of a local tree branch as he was now within less than five feet from the action. As sweat dripped down his brow, Saikuro started to wonder who exactly was bold enough, or perhaps crazy enough, to challenge a captain.

What didn't occur to him however, is that it could have very easily been the other way around.

" What? kidou is a form of my own power no matter how I elect to use it, that you should at least agree with seeing as how you like to use it so much. And I definitely can believe in Oujutora's power, quit telling me what I can't do!" Shorin replied in retort as he upsurged his reiatsu in anger, in attempts to output as much power as he could into his technique. Although, from the way things were going one would suspect that Shorin disliked his new captain and that he probably had minimal respect for him but it was quite the contrary. He loved the fact that he could argue with Raigen without him backing down, it's aspects like that which keep Shorin motivated. Though it was true they had different philosophies and couldn't seem to meet eye to eye on anything one thing but this fight was becoming the foundation for their relationship. Out of respect for one another it seemed they will always continue to bicker from this point on, it would be an odd relation but a relationship none the less.

" What the!?" The leaf maned recruit exclaimed in thought as he noticed his reiatsu beginning to envelope in ice along with his zanpaktou and parts of his hand." Damnit to hell! Not this ice crap again!" He shouted in thought as his light blue eyes stayed fixated on Raigen, who was about to capitalize on his successful counter attack." Or sometimes you just need a little determination!" He replied to Raigen in a rough shout as he managed to shunpo away from his follow up slash and re appear on the ground below, breathing heavily with beads of sweat running down his face. He soon fell to his knee as he felt Raigen release what felt like all the reiatsu in the world throughout the area. Shorin had planted Oujutora into the ground to prevent himself from falling over anymore than he already had. " Dam-n, it...." Shorin uttered in short breaths as he found it even difficult to breathe, his partially frozen hand and sword aiding to the growing discomfort." Heh, I guess this Raigen Taichou aint half bad. But I'll get there one day.." He thought as he managed to work the muscles in his face to perform a wide smirk as his body was trembling, doing everything it could not to fall all the way over due to the immense spiritual pressure Raigen was exuding.

Lyon smiles, he smiles gently when he watches his oponent's moves, his speech, and his will. The ones who remember their power will be the ones who get out of battle with a victory, and with a life. As they say, 9in battle, there are no beautifull sunsets....a falling sun is a warning of Night. Lyon smiles gently again, this man was always smilling, noone knows why, but this one, was an honest smile. Lyon calmly puts his sword back on her place, and whispers.
Nice work Kage Tsurugi....now let us stop dancing. We have a victory.
What?! But I did not even use Bankai! She said....but she knew Lyon was right...as he reduces his reiatsu and breaks the ice around the man's arm and zapakutou with a sign. The ice breaks and it's particles lay on the floor.
Good job...but, as you said, you should not be fighting a Captain for the Lt. spot...look...we have a new presence...Prove me you deserve to fight me again...and come back when you get more power...but, next time we fight....it will be for the Captain's Spot.
The youngman who just reduced his zapakutou sits down on the roof, and starts meditating, feeling the spiritual pressure of the two creatures on that area...

The golden haired prodigy observed the battle with mixed emotions. He firstly felt overwhelmed, due to the fact that a captain was unleashing his power, secondly, he felt surprised as to the fact that a new recruit was facing up against one, but as he analyzed the situation more, he came to the realization that the captain was holding back, and yet was still dominating him.

Saikuro gulped hard as his nerves started to take over. He was still trying to walk off the effects of the captain's reaitsu, and now he was forced to fight. Fight or die. Though technically, he wouldn't die, at least, not on the outside. With a slow count of ten, the blue eyed shinigami shunpo'd several times consecutively as he made his way up the tower. Though as he came in closer, he felt butterflies in his stomach.

Upon reaching the top, Saikuro's gaze went from the captain, who seemed chilled, to his fellow recruit, who seemed beaten and bruised; but not badly. Upon further inspection of the new recruit Saikuro was able to make a correlation between the recruit's face, and the face of an academy student he knew. He didn't know his name, but he knew his personality. Bold and headstrong, but very powerful in his own right. If this was his opponent, then Saikuro would have to use that against his opponent.

"It seems that you are my opponent. I would request that after this battle there will be no hard feelings between us. May the best man win." Saikuro said as he took a bow to his opponent.

Saikuro's zanpaktou rested snugly on his left hip, and with the coming battle soon approaching, he realized that he would have to bring out all the stops if he was to win.

He placed his left hand on his zanpaktou's hilt, and Saikuro's form was still standing tall and erect. He didn't move, he just stood still like a statue, awaiting for his opponent to make the first move if he wanted to.

A large relief of pressure sends warming chills throughout his body, he was able to breathe normally now. It had seemed that Captain Raigen had let up on his reiatsu, “ Thank goodness.” He thought as he panted heavily, realizing that if he were under such pressure a little bit longer he may have passed out due to the heavy strain on his young body. The upper half of his black kimono was drenched in sweat, and his hands were still shaking with anticipation. He hated to loose, even when he knew winning was pretty much inevitable from the jump, he was far too passionate for battle to shrug a defeat off no matter what the disparity. Shorin closed his eyes, preparing for the penetration of cold steel through his flesh, but instead he received a warm display followed by a few words by the captain. After being freed from the ice’s grasp by Captain Raigen the words “Good Job” rang deep into his heart.

Shorin looked up toward Raigen from his wary knelt position with his light blue eyes on the verge of tears. It was the first time anyone had ever given him any positive recognition, Shorin’s pride would not allow him to cry but he felt lucky to have a captain that was different from all the rest. Though it was a touching moment in his life Shorin had little time to bask in the moment, Raigen had stated later in his statement that there was someone else in the area, another who had come to try out for the Lieutenant spot.“ I’m going to hold you to that Raigen Taichou. But don’t worry because next time I’ll definitely give you a run for your money.” The cabbage haired recruit replied with a half glazed smirk, it seemed Raigen’s last statement had kicked his ego back up to speed.

Only after the captain mentioned that another presence was in the area was when he actually noticed the new spiritual pressure. With all of the captains reiatsu emanating at full throttle just prior it was very difficult to discern anything else in the vicinity.“ So this is the guy I was suppose to have been fighting all this time. Well, I guess better late then never, though I wish I was at a hundred percent, Captain Raigen really wore me out.” He uttered in thought as he made his way to his feet while flipping Oujutora around and resting the dull end of its cleaver-like blade on his right shoulder. Shorin was gleaming in the sunlight due to the massive amounts of perspiration glazed over his body, he gazed at the new blonde haired boy in front of him with a raised eyebrow.

He wasn’t sure but the boy seemed familiar, perhaps an old acquaintance from the academy or even from the 44th district in Rukonagi, but whatever their past relation was it was irrelevant at this point in time.“ Rarely is it ever personal, more often its just business, there will be no hard feelings on my end. I’d love to greet you properly but considering the circumstances introductions will have to wait until later.” He replied as he brought the large tiger striped cleaver Oujutora around with one hand, showing off his strength a bit and pointing its bladed edge at the blond shinigami.

Shorin’s zanpaktou was still glowing from the reiatsu concentrated to its just a few minuets prior, he had been planning to strike Captain Raigen with it again but things didn’t quite turn out the way he had planned.“ Long as we don’t kill each other everything is fair game, lets go!” Shorin exclaimed as he shunpo’d with shikai level speed toward the new shinigami, appearing behind him with his zanpaktou cocked back onto a horizontal level plane, attempting a hard strike across the blond haired shinigami’s back. The speed differential between the two would have been great at this point since Shorin was already in his release while the other was not, though Shorin would be on his toes none the less expecting a counter attack or perhaps a clean strike provided the new shinigami’s skill.

Saikuro's gaze was fixated on his opponent. Upon examination, one could see what emotions he was driven by. Concentration, focus, a small amount of anxiety, but most of all, anticipation. As seconds rolled onto minutes, Saikuro could sense the passion of his opponent. Immediately, he drew his zanpaktou, switching up his stance. Saikuro's emerald hilt laid tight in his right hand. He raised the sword slightly above his head while he widened his feet a little to ensure balance so that he wouldn't lose his composure in the heat of battle. His left hand, or free hand, was raised slightly back behind his head, only used for kidou and defense if the situation deems it.

A chilling wind swept the area, kicking up a small amount of dust as the two combatants stared each other down under the watchful eye of their captain, who never let the two recruits leave out of his eyesight.

Then he struck.

Attacking with the ferocity of a tiger with a speed of a cheetah, Saikuro's opponent appeared behind him. Though Saikuro had little time to dodge or deflect with his zanpaktou, he felt that he could still rely on kidou. Pointing a single finger upward, he positioned it so that it was pointing at the dull spot of the blade, then he was ready.

Without an incantation, a white strip of lightning was shot. A bright light illuminated the battlefield as the resulting shockwave was enough to push Saikuro out of harm's way. His body rolled backwards as he assumed his stance once again, while his opponent recovered back into his stance as well.

A standoff ensued as both combatants were staring each other down, analyzing each other before they would strike. It was Saikuro who noticed it first. His opponent's feet were slightly off, it would prove fatal in their next confrontation, and Saikuro would be the one to commence it. His body disappeared as he shunpo'd to his opponent. While moving, he placed his left hand on his sheath in preparation.

His body reappeared below his opponent as he quickly placed his sheath behind his opponent's front foot and pulled it forward, attempting to trip him. Immediately, he went in for the kill as his left hand dropped the sheath and gripped the hilt of sword while his right hand was doing the same. He then thrusted his blade toward his opponent's left shoulder. After his attack, Saikuro rolled out of his opponent's way so that he wouldn't be able to land an effective counter. Afterward, he shunpo'd above his opponent and attempted a downward slash toward his opponent's left shoulder again.

[OOC: Not such a big deal this time around, but try not dictate my characters actions like engaging him in a stand off mid battle or recovering him into his stance when there are other possible options I may want my character to consider.]

The bright white flash that panned off of the dull end of Oujutora, causing a slight tremor to quake through his zanpaktou, although it was not enough to stop the ferocity of the slash.“As much as I hate Kidou, I’ve got to admit that was pretty clever” He thought as his blade whisked the air where the blonde recruit was just prior. Shorin adjusted himself after his missed strike as the other shinigami rolled out of the way and regrouped. The olive haired Tsugetsu maintained his posture and stood poised, keeping a sharp eye on his opponent. He was able to follow the boy’s movements without a problem, this was good and it would also prove key in the moments to come.

Shorins light blue eyes widened with reaction as they took note of the blond shinigami’s advancing shunpo. The opposing shinigami appeared below with his sheath placed behind his front foot, attempting to trip up the young Tsugetsu but to no avail. Instinctively Shorin quickly gathered reishi underneath his feet from the abundant atmosphere, thus allowing him to gain traction in the air to exchange his balance from the surface to the air to not only avoid loosing his footing but also to allow him to evade the follow up strike that was aimed toward his left shoulder. After watching his opponent roll out from his missed slash attempt Shorin watched him shunpo yet again, this time the shinigami appeared above with his zanpaktou poised for a downward slash at the same left shoulder he had targeted just prior.

“Got him.” Shorin stated in thought as he pointed Oujutora straight up above at the airborne shinigami and waited until he was near point blank range to execute his counter attack.“ Shikon Sui-pu!” Shorin exclaimed just seconds before the blond shinigami’s blade was about to finish its descent and at that very moment a large blast of feral raw energy blasted from Oujutora that would send out a chaotic blot of shapeless energy that would plow forth into the blond shinigami. Dodging at point blank range was impossible, especially while airborne and already performing an initial attack attempt. The blast would move perpetually in its vertical trajectory up to 200 yards in the air before dissipating, most likely taking the unfortunate blond shinigami along for the ride. The blast would release the concentrated glow from Oujutora as Shorin would sweep around and position himself and his zanpaktou back into his ready position while beginning to concentrate more reiatsu into his shikai.

*Coughs* Lyon, Asran is the sixth division captain. you're the seventh division captain *coughs*

The glow of the Shinigami's reaitsu caused Saikuro's eyes to widen with surprise. He never expected himself to be caught in the middle of a direct blast. He had wished he hadn't been so direct, however, it would be impossible for Saikuro to change his past, but he can change his future.

The blast was sent just as the blond haired Shinigami was about to connect with his strike, sending him skyward at a rapid pace. The blast continued to push him back as he was blocking it with his sword, attempting to protect himself from a direct attack. As Saikuro ascended in the air, all hope seemed lost. That was, until an idea popped into his head.

His blade started to glow with a vibrant blue aura as lightning started to skip across his blade at a rapid pace. The blue-eyed Shinigami was able to channel the electric properties of Byakurai through his zanpaktou, and with a slight push of his blade he released the energy, redirecting the blast to the side. Saikuro wiped the sweat from his forehead as a sign of relief.

Now that was just one small problem.

He was in free fall! The blast took him hundreds of meters into the air, he had to find a way to land safely, or suffer death. Thoughts started to fly through his head as his brain was presenting cases that Saikuro consciously proved wouldn't work. He had to think fast, his time was running out.

And then finally an idea struck.

Saikuro gathered his energy as he whispered the incantation, his hands started to glow with a hint of blue reaitsu.

"Bakudou number 37: Tsuriboshi!"

A small blue ball was released from Saikuro's hands as it soon expanded, latching onto buildings and creating a giant web-like safety net only a few feet from the ground. Saikuro's body soon landed on the soft web-like cushion, which absorbed the shock and bounced him back up in the air a few inches. The blue-eyed Shinigami then performed a series of back flips mid-air as he landed on his feet, going back to his battle stance.

It didn't take long for the goo like web to dissipate into nothingness, almost as if it never even existed. A smirk crossed Saikuro's lips as the high of battle was changing him.

"You may have caught me off guard, but now I think it's time for you to face something unlike nothing ever seen before in thousands of years."

Saikuro's words carried a hint of confidence, perhaps arrogance, but he could easily back them up, which is what he was about to prove to his opponent.

"Confuse, Kabe Pandoru."

Saikuro whispered as the blade of his zanpaktou shattered into hundreds of pieces, falling onto the grain like rain drops. Soon, they started to glow with an intense purple aura as Saikuro's body started to distort into what seemed to be seagulls. The seagulls started to fly into the air until they attacked his opponent. His opponent would soon realize however, that the seagulls weren't hurting him. No, they were merely illusions and distractions for Saikuro to strike.

"Hadou number 4: Byakurai."

He whispered as a blue stream of lightning attempted to strike through his opponent's chest.

[OOC: There is a couple of errors in your post. My Technique "Shikon Sui-pu" cannot be deflected or redirected and you need to charge bakudo techniques for at least one post unless its a shielding type(In rules) so your "Tsuriboshi" is invalid as well since it would fall under the “other” category. So, I'll just pick up after you've been damaged by the technique as well as partially by the fall and up until your release and your attack attempts.]

The flash of his own orange reiatsu reflected heavily off of his soft tan skin, as his light blue eyes were fixated with intent and his teeth gritted together in force.“Haaa!” Shorin let out a loud shout as he poured as much strength as he could into his successful technique. From a good distance one would be able to see a thick stream of orange reiatsu shooting up into the air as if some sort of powerful comet was launched from the ground below. Such a devastating technique detonated at close range would damage just about anyone, especially his blond haired opponent who was unreleased at the time of impact. The fearsome reiatsu blast launched him two football field lengths into the air, it was needless to say his fall back towards the ground was less than graceful.

“ Not many people can even stand up after a direct Shikon Sui-pu, perhaps there’s a lot more to this guy than I thought.” He uttered in thought as he had finished charging and concentrating his reiatsu to fuel Oujutora’s insatiable lust for energy. As his opponent made his way back into his battle stance he had uttered something about facing something unlike he had ever seen in a thousand years.“ Well if its been a thousand years then of course I’ve never seen it, I’m not nearly that old.” Shorin replied as he gripped the hilt of his saber-like zanpaktou and readied himself for what his opponent was boasting about just prior. Then suddenly his opponents reiatus grew greatly, it seemed he was releasing his sword.“ So he does have shikai after all, good. Things were starting to get a little dull there for a second.” He thought while maintaining his battle stance keeping his senses alert for the unknown.

Then truly, the unexpected happened.“ Huh!?” Shorin muttered as he watched his opponents zanpaktou shatter into a hundred pieces , a look of confusion befell the young recruits face as he was unsure whether to celebrate the fact that his opponents sword had broken or if to be worried that something unorthodox would be in store. Unfortunately his latter assumption was correct,“The Hell!” Shorin shouted as he literally watched his opponent dissipate and turn into a flock of aggressive seagulls. After a few monetary reiatsu filled swipes with his sword, he soon noticed that the seagulls were either weak as the air around them or were merely a trick of some sort, once again the latter seemed to fit best. “ If that’s a trick then..” Shorin’s thought were interrupted by a kidou phrase all too familiar for one day.

“ Oujutora!” He exclaimed in thought as his senses narrowed in on the acquaint blue streak of lightning jutting toward his upper torso. Shorin had called upon his zanpaktou to exploit one of its innate abilities to swiftly get him out of harms way. A loud reverberating roar echoed throughout Shorin’s body as his cells along with his adrenaline were swiftly manipulated and amplified causing his speed and strength to double in stature for a short period. The large boost allowed for the green headed recruit to dodge with only a minor singe to his kimono sleeve and upper shoulder. Using his temporary speed and strength gain Shorin would shunpo with blinding speed, guided by his reiatsu sensory, appearing only a few feet away in his opponents right rear blind spot with his off hand surging with a bright blue energy.“ Hado #33. Sokatsui!” Shorin exclaimed as he unleashed a burst of spiritual energy toward his opponent that would detonate with an extremely wide area of range. This in combination with his temporarily doubled speed would add to the blasts release speed and overall speed tremendously. As the blast would ensue, he would tighten his grip on Oujutora, readying himself on the slim horizon of an immediate counter attack.

[OOC: I hate to double post, especially with an OOC reply but its been almost a week and its seems no one else besides myself is actively online. So due to the rules I call my point blank Sokatsui hit and that should do it for me and Souske's fight.]

A loud devastating explosion ensued casting the entire area in a bright blue hue, the power of the upscale kidou blast was enough to cause large quakes on the ground. The effects of Oujutora’s physical enhancing ability soon wore off as they more than served their tactical purpose. Shorin found himself panting in added exhaustion, still feeling the pain from his fight with Captain Raigen only moments prior.“ I was hoping for a more of a fight but I guess I over did it a little.” Shorin uttered in thought as he swung Oujutora around and propped its blunt side on his left shoulder. His light blue eyes were fixated on the blonde recruit who was buried under a pile of rubble, the parts of his body that were visible had been severely bruised and scorched.“ Looks like I win, although I was hoping to see more of your technique. Oh well then, nice fight anyway.” Shorin stated, directing his audio toward the blonde shinigami who didn’t seem to be responding physically or verbally.“ Ok……..?” Shorin tapped his foot impatiently awaiting a response, however there was nothing but the sound of the passing wind.“ Umm Raigen Taichou, I think he might be unconscious!” He exclaimed as he turned his head in Raigens direction awaiting for a response or even some sort of order on what he should next.

Lyon takes a deep breath and puts down his cup of tea...the fight between his two comrades was over, and now an hell butterfly was coming on their direction...Lyon extends his arm, and the butterfly lands on his right hand...as he makes some moves with his head while he is receiving the message, he quickly looks at the two other men and pretends that he didn't watch their fight at all...
Oh hi there! Is it over? well, if it isn't get over with it...anyway, since that other guy seems to be unconscious, and he is laying there under the rubish, I think you should hear what I am about to say. This beautifull hell butterfly just told me that we are now apart of the 7th squad...so, here's what you guys need to know:
The 7th Division is in charge of planning, coordinating, and executing large missions. That includes sending out more reinforcements and information regarding the mission. Their insignia is of a Iris, which means Courage. Courage huh? Well...it aint that bad right? So...you are the new Lt. of my squad! Congratulations!| Here, take it!
He sais as he throws at Tsugets his Lt. insignia...
Now now...where were we? Oh right! There is a lot of paperwork for you to do at out headquarters..I hope you're ready... He states, with a childish smile on his face...Then, he stans up and approaches the other guy...laying on the floor.
Oh c'mon! You can do better then that! Besides, you are the new 7th squad 3rd seat! So....I hope you're happy! Meet us at the HD whan I send you an Hell Butterfly please!
Lyon had this strange way to be...he sais: "Thankyou", and "please" to his subordinates....how could that be? Isn't that a little bit out of terms? Well..it is, but who gives a damn right?!
He looks at Tsugetsu and the other guy and waits for a reply.

It had become apparent in the moments before Raigen had responded to Shorin's statement of Inquiry that his opponent was beaten and down for the count, after all he wasn't even conscious." Oh bother.." Shorin intoned to himself in thought as he released Oujutora from its shikai form back into its sealed state since his full level of power was no longer needed for the time being. However as the Captain responded it seemed as though his demeanor had changed, he seemed more up beat and to the point as oppose to his former highly analytical self. The young recruit didn't really know what to think so he brushed it off with out a second thought, though he hoped Raigen actually watched their fight as oppose to focusing his attention elsewhere.

It was key to know how your subordinates operated in the midst of battle, things of that nature would heavily weigh in on decision Raigen would make regarding tactics in the future. " The 7th division now!? Well I guess thats not too bad considering we would get all the good missions instead of boring clean up and patrols" He replied as he caught the insignia thrown from Raigen and as he held the 7th division Lieutenant badge he couldn't help but bask in the moment, all of his life he had struggled to achieve greatness and he was one hell of a roll. Graduating from the academy and becoming a vice captain all in the same day seemed to unreal, but he did it." What a drag now there's paper work? Tch, I guess we dont have a choice." He said with a frustrated grunt as he turned to head toward Raigen and follow him assumingly to the division head quarters." So what of the other guy, are we just gonna leave him until he comes to or what?" He asked still casually walking toward the captain not really giving too much favor either way.
