Sumikaya's Zanpakutou

In the form of a Kappa. A Kappa is a humanoid figure, which has green skin, a beak like mouth, long, messy black hair, a pond lily on it's head, and a turtle shell on its back. They also have long arms and legs, and have webbed hands and feet.

When Shikai is activated, the Zanpakutou will itself melt, and suddenly burst, and become a huge amount of of a certain kind of metal liquid, which has similar to properties to the element, Mercury. The Shikai takes on the form of exactly 200,000 gallons of mercury, the only metal that takes on a liquid form at a normal outside temperature. Think of it as enough mercury to fill a little more than an average sized Olympic pool. This liquid can be manipulated and move as fast as Sumikaya can, but only fast enough to keep up with him at an average speed. It is eight times the weight of normal water. It can be hardened at will, and any amount of it can be hardened in any form, but this requires a 3 post recharge.

Shikai Ability:

This special liquid cannot be solidified or turned to gas by any means, except by its user's own will. It moves just fast enough to catch up with an average speed Sumikaya, but if he were to move at top speed, it couldn't follow him. It can be moved and manipulated like water, and weighs eight times more than water, and can deliver painful hits, and smother and crush foes with enough pressure. Any part of it can be hardened at will, but it stays in that condition for 2 posts, and then takes 4 posts to recharge. It can also be turned to gas, with the same restrictions as being turned to solid. It cannot levitate, and at least a small part of it must remain attached to the ground; it is still affected by gravity (The only exception being one technique.) These Shikai abilities allow for a good amount of different tactics to be used.

Dissolve:
Sumikaya can himself reduce himself and his clothing into the metal, and go inside of it, and still control it. He can use this to take on the liquid's properties, and avoid being hit by an attack, though it does slightly damage Kumori himself in the process. He can maintain this form for 3 posts, and then is returned to his normal, human form. This technique requires a 5 post cool down.

Updated. I only have one technique, so that I can has some technique space for Bankai, when I eventually get it.
