Shikai Ability: In its shikai it is actually dual blades. All together it allows for a basic control of thermal temperatures in creating cold and hot air almost at will by channeling reaitsu into one of the blades.

The right blade is the blade that allows for heat based air to be created and manipulated. Its blade is very warm and can sting or burn at the touch of it. However at the hilt it stays cool to allow kaji to hold it. It can send out blasts of warm air at simple slash and the hits are often crushing and very dehydrating.

The left blade is the blade that allows for cold air to be created and manipulated. It is very cold to the touch and feels slimy at the touch. However at extended period of touching the blade it can cause frostbite. However the hilt is immune to the cold to allow kaji to hold the blade safely. It can freeze water and other liquids at the touch.

Techniques:
Mirages- By flashing the right blade heat will collect around kaji and will cause a trick of the eye to occur. It makes it so the opponent will slowly begin to see more and kaji's all doing the same thing. This makes it nerve racking for the opponent as they dont know what's going on. The mirages dissipate however after they have been touched. A new mirage is created every two post's though. The drawback to kaji is that he sweats a lot more due to the mass of heat around him causing him to dehydrate and get tired easier. -Shikai

Chilling eyes- By absorbing some of the left blades power into his body he shifts it to his eyes and begin to send of waves of cold air to where he looks by creating low level paths of reaitsu. Once the cold air hits the opponent it creates a shiver that will slowly grow till it becomes so cold that it makes it feel like there about to die causing them to go into hypothermia easily. It takes about 2 post's to use this ability and can be used once every 3 post's. It takes 4 times to use this ability to have a chance to cause hypothermia. -Shikai

Thunder slam- By pointing both the blades at the opponent kaji will cause a large wave of hot air to head towards the opponent that will severely dehydrate the opponent if it hits. However after about 20 seconds of passing the opponent the hot air will instantly chill and come back to hit the opponent again this time chilling them making them lose even more of there strength. However due to the wave of heat and then cold it will blast off a small shock-wave which becomes a sound-wave not shortly afterward which creates a clap of thunder. This ability is unable to be done in one post it takes two post's to prepare and execute it. Even though it seems like it would do a lot and would be hard to dodge it can only move so far before becoming usless. Its a strictly medium ranged attack at about 5 meters. -Shikai
